We're Nine !
Fishing Enthusiast Gift of the Month is entering our ninth year online. We started out with a small ad -- it was a one inch ad! -- in the New Yorker in 1996, where we introduced our Trout Fly of the Month gift subscription. FE now offers a total of six unique gift subscriptions and have attracted customers from around the world.

The December 2000 issue of Money magazine features an online holiday gift buying guide titled "Best Holiday Shopping Sites." Fishing Enthusiast started off small. In fact, when we placed our first ad, in The New Yorker magazine, we weren't prepared for the response. It took a lot of creativity and hard work to fill all of the orders, but we knew we were on to something.

Today, FE now ships to all 50 US States, to our neighbors in the north, and overseas. We're happy to say that we're meeting the needs of gift-givers "around the world."

FE's mission is to be as environmentally aware as possible
Fishing Enthusiast incorporated recycled and recyclable materials in our packaging, correspondence, and promotional activities since our beginning in 1996. (For example, our packing peanuts are starch based, making them completely biodegradable. We use many unbleached paper products, reducing the introduction of Dioxin into the environment.)

But there's always room for improvement. With our April 1999 shipment of our Lure of the Month™ and Fly of the Month™ installments, FE introduced the use of the following environmentally friendly materials:

• Hemp Twine (replaced the use of jute twine)
  
• Letterhead made from paper consisting of 100% Post-Consumer paper-waste
  
• Envelopes made from paper consisting of 100% Post-Consumer paper-waste
